evenue and staff growth highlight the company’s continued commitment to cybersecurity innovation through its modern automated patch management platform.
BOULDER, Colo. — (Dec. 11, 2018) — Automox, a global provider of cloud-native patch management and endpoint protection solutions, is closing 2018 with record revenue and employee growth, the addition of key senior staff, a new board member and increased customer acquisition velocity.
Automox revenue grew by 400 percent in the past 12 months, and the company attracted top-tier engineering and SaaS talent. This growth comes on the heels of $9.3 million in Series A funding, announced in November, and the appointment of security industry veteran Tom Noonan to its board of directors. A 20-plus-year veteran of the information security industry, Noonan brings extensive experience to the Automox board. He is a general partner at TechOperators and former chairman, president and chief executive officer of Internet Security Systems Inc., which was acquired in 2007 by IBM for $1.3 billion.
“Over the past year, we have focused on building a product that focuses on one simple but critical task: ensuring systems and software are patched and up to date. Our continued momentum and rapid company growth speaks to the significant demand for a cloud-native, automated patch management solution,” said Jay Prassl, Automox CEO. “With more than 80 percent of data breaches resulting from poor patch management practices and the attack surface growing in an exponential manner, the need for companies to automate their patch management has never been greater.”
Automox’s 400 percent revenue growth and expanded base of managed service providers (MSPs) was driven by increased worldwide demand for a unified endpoint protection solution that protects any operating system and any software, regardless of location. The company expanded its position in the endpoint protection market with the release of new features including role-based access control (RBAC), security assertion markup language (SAML), custom policies, custom end-user notifications and G Suite integration.
New Automox customers this year include, Greyhound, Hootsuite, Junior Achievement USA, Mount Sinai Health Systems, NASA, Quicken, Texas A&M University, Thermo Fisher Scientific, USA Volleyball, Xerox and Yale School of Management.
Facing growing threats and a rapidly expanding attack surface, understaffed and alert-fatigued organizations need more efficient ways to eliminate their exposure to vulnerabilities. Automox is a modern cyber hygiene platform that closes the aperture of attack by more than 80% with just half the effort of traditional solutions.
